Niantic is notoriously slow to respond to its users, if they do at all, so I am actually pleasantly surprised to receive a response in the same day.

They don’t want players to think they can inact change through boycotts (or threats thereof). By creating a team to “develop a change”, they can pretend whatever solution they end up with is their own idea and not simply the thing players wanted. 

The really stupid thing about all this is that keeping the radius extended does not hinder Niantic's revenue in any way, shape, or form. Reducing it back does nothing but antagonize their core base.

I should also add that Hoopa has two forms, so they couldn't just do a giveaway like with Meloetta, it will likely have to be a raid of some sort.

Personally, I had a blast with the whole weekend, but I had a lot of holes to fill and a lot of people to run around and raid with until I was basically dead on my feet at 6pm.
