Not trying to talk shit here, but what 'diverse and creative' books hit at launch? I'm not a DC person at all, but I tried to get back on board with New 52 and was just blown away at the utter lack of quality in the books.

I searched all the way down the comments to see if anyone posted this. Granted, Mignolaverse has a lot less proverbial balls in the air to juggle but not only is it incredibly well put together, he releases trades THAT COLLECT ALL OF THE FREAKIN BOOKS IN ORDER. I never, ever understood why that was so hard for comic

I waited for the trade on this one, but man, it deserves all the praise it gets. I will say that I'd like to see the AVClub do a little more critique and a little less cheerleading for books though. In this case? Spot on, well deserved coverage that you can't get anyplace else.

I guess what I mean is that given the popularity of the movies it blows my mind that there hasn't been more of a concerted effort to bring in new fans. In fact, comic books seem more and more intent on ignoring how other media effects their books. The Teen Titans #1 cover thing from DC last year is a great example.

Schmoker, you and I couldn't agree more. I'm 38 and what I've started to realize is that I love the medium of comics so much that I've learned to hate the purveyors of it. I like Marvel more because I like the intellectual property, but I've thrown in the towel completely on trying to buy and/or keep up with any

OK, tried posting this on my phone last night and at this point I'm fairly certain it will be lost to the bottom of the comment section, but I've got to get this one off of my chest.

I got the Run the Cats version on 8-track already.

ponytale is most definitely NOT spelled wrong in this context.

He's in a cave. A CRYSTAL cave.

Above the Gun.

OK, where to start. First, I take umbrage at referring to Out For Justice as a 'third tier action movie.' Aside from it being the high water mark of Seagal's career, it was the #32 grossing film in 1991. Plus John Flynn directed it, and he's an inveterate bad ass. Second, Stix (sic) is Dan Inosanto. I'm not even

It's amazing there are so many comments on this article and so many great conversations going on. It's a shame that the article itself -as is the case with most rap/hip-hop coverage here- doesn't keep up. This line:

Thanks for dredging up a thing I had forgotten existed that nearly ruined me. Damn this is an incredible song.

I'm seven minutes in and this is already the god damned gold standard against which all media should hereby ever be judged against.

Well, if Ack_Ack is suspicious then I guess I better fess up. I'm just bringing everyone along for a ride here, folks!

I was honestly going to post 'There is no way that solo is as good as THIS…' and then post this very song. I had no idea it was called Baker Street, or who any of these people are. Amazing.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven: Dayglo Abortions

I like 'fucking awesome' too.

Also, one more thing: if the question is 'What is the best Baseball walkup music?' it has been asked and answered.
