The Shawshank Redemption Chapter II: Redemption
Gold Bullet

You guys are probably just as sad as I am that King wasn't as prolific a writer as he could have been and thus studios keep having to return to the same few properties over and over again. I'd go check and see what other stories are out there but it's such a long walk to the library.

Yeah, the context of who the speaker is in the clip is key. It's China Mieville, an author. He actually wrote an introduction to 'At the Mountains of Madness' (which, if you haven't read any Lovecraft, that's an amazing place to start). But Mieville writes and thinks a lot about worlds within worlds, or more

Way late to the party, but please check this out.

If you keep scrolling down about four more comments, I clarified a bit. Disqus comments are weird, I didn't realize how my comments and replies worked.

I'm not in the least 'angry' about any of this. I'll take a step back here: all comment sections have now essentially turned into an argument with sides. There are four sides as far as I can tell: Pro, Con, Troll and Funny. Since I think Shesells… video is pedantic and silly, I'm therefore a fan of CS. If I think

So the argument boils down to 'everyone is copying their shitty techniques and what about the children?' I'm not repping hard for CS at all, but this is amazing. You've saddled them with something they literally cannot control as a reason to dislike them.

That's literally the opposite of what I said. I'm a fan of CS because I think what they do takes effort, it points out many, many, garbage tropes in films and I even admit that it's hacky. I'm not a fanboy defending the channel, at all. Unlike the guy who posted the response vid -and apparently almost everyone with an

Oh I agree, but this was private groups for fans of a site/podcast. And weirdly almost everything else was unanimously positive. But when CS or any 'negative' exploration of something came up, everyone got into a frenzy.

But they did make this, which is freaking amazing.

Also, I love how he calls them out for making 'clickbait garbage' and you go to their channel and all of their videos are essentially the exact same thing they are decrying. I mean really?

Well clearly you are a much more clear minded individual than the folks I mentioned.

I never understood the hate for CinemaSins until I joined a couple of different Facebook Fan Groups. One was for a film review site and the other was for a podcast. People in those Facebook groups DESPISED CS and it was literally because someone was making fun of the things they loved. That was it. I've never, ever

I've never seen this show, nor will I ever, but when the review said 'beat a disabled man to death with a chair' I thought 'I'm listening.'

I don't like this. It hurts me

What else of his did you read and like? I'll keep an eye out?

I scrolled down and didn't see this posted so I'll drop it here. I picked this book up recently and while it isn't written by a Russian, it is a fairly interesting concept and the absolute perfect lens to view Russian sci-fi through. Its called Yellow Blue Tibia by Adam Roberts.

Fred Durst you say? I'm listening.

Teddy Best here.

Scrolled way down, didn't see this one (thanks disqus and obama if I missed it) but Bitches Ain't Shit needs a shout here. It was an amazing exclamation point to that album.
