I don’t buy the fear argument at all. You don’t have to denounce a person to avoid working with them.

Especially since let’s face it, her stunt calling for jihad against Trump could only backfire. Like the rightwing outlets were going to politrly publish retractions and note how she used the word—fuck that! They have a prominent leftist Muslim activist calling for “jihad” against the Prez of the USA! Run that

This website is highly critical of people on a consistent basis for one tweet, one post, or one statement. I can recall numerous articles, posts, etc., about individuals who would otherwise be “woke” deserving harsh criticism because of such tweets, posts, statements, etc.

The tweet in question. Whatever you feel about Ayaan, her anger and her activism comes from a place of genuine suffering. And given the fact that she DID suffer from FGM, saying “she doesn’t deserve to be a woman” is gross and indefensible. Because it’s something that someone almost literally tried to inflict upon

Slightly OT, but Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s labelling by the SPLC was heartbreaking for me. Anyone familiar with her story would see that her stances on Islam are informed primarily by her incredibly traumatic childhood and young adulthood. The Netherlands and US have failed her badly as refuges, and now she is being used like

Yep. Sarsour has serious issues in that area and glossing over them does not do anyone any favors. Giving her a pass means she’ll never improve while it also hurts Jewish liberals who already have to deal with antisemitism from the left and the right as is.

“the brand of Zionism she fights against is not the brand of Zionism I recognize”
“one cannot be a Zionist and a feminist at the same time. I am indeed both, thankyouverymuch”

So is the “brand of Zionism” that has resulted in the current apartheid state that is Israel your brand of Zionism, or not? I’m totally open to

In certain circles in NYC criticizing Zionism is equated with Anti-Semitism. PERIOD.

Linda Sarsour quote:

The left is so susceptible to right wing propaganda, we saw it with Hillary Clinton and now we’re seeing it with Nancy Pelosi and with activist leaders like Sarsour. It seems like people on the left internalize the negative propaganda and start couching anything positive they have to say with things like, “I’m no

Oh, that movie was accidental comedy gold. The problem is Angie wasn’t in on the joke. Hell, neither was Brad. They’re both super pretty and suuuuuper earnest but not that bright, which is why Angie should stick to acting and leave the writing and directing to smarter people.

Oh, Raul, you could have made so much of the current shitshow a little more bearable simply by existing. But no, you left us, just like reason.

I am so, so tired of the fat-bashing attendant to this whole Usher thing. It’s depressing as fuck, and it makes me mad as hell. Usher isn’t even good looking. I’m fat as hell, and have both dated and “dated” a bunch of guys much more attractive than that, and one nearly as rich.

I think she made that movie so she could wear caftans and vintage shades in a pretty place. I don’t blame her one bit.

I loved By the Sea, it was so overwrought it was hilarious. And the voyerism was next level loony, totally made the movie. Loved it.

It’s completely legit. Football, specifically being a fanatic OF football, is exactly like any other addiction. It’s not that easy. It probably feels good and clever to say that it is that easy, especially if you think it’s fresh? You know? But honestly, when you’re raised with something, raised to count on it and

“Having Kaepernick exist as your NFL straw in 2017 is like boycotting R. Kelly just cause he stole his steez from Aaron Hall.” Mr. Young is still in great form.

What’s wrong with not wanting more kids?
