I did not play it, but i watched my wife play the entire thing (more or less.) I think the biggest issue ultimately was just that the setting did not play into AC’s major strengths (to that point) which was the ability to explore massive and fascinating buildings/cities/areas. The other stuff i thought (largely)

as apologies go, this is.... not great? i’d have liked to see an ‘i’m sorry’ in there somewhere, but i can see where ‘I was wrong to do what I did’ and ‘I profoundly apologize’ suggest he may be sorry. ultimately what makes me uncomfortable with ‘i apologize’ is that its too often the ‘i apologize if anyone was

were they anti-authority or were they anti-government? I know a bunch of them that rail against the government, but still are drawn to authority. they aren’t anarchists by any stretch- they just want the authority to change to their version of it

can ‘and if not.... the mexican children’ be a new thing?

its weird that they would highlight that she is a marine and also deeply anti-authority. ive known marines of many generations and ‘anti-authority’ is basically the opposite of what you get from that experience

This is why the ‘florida man’ thing exists- even if florida does have a slightly higher average of weirdos, we only hear about it all the time because they basically put every bit of detail out there. not that i’m complaining- florida man is endlessly entertaining- but i’d also love to hear about MA man more often

i can get on board with that actually (although i’d probably swap out the almonds for something else.)

my mother has a recipe that is grapefruit, ramen noodle bricks broken into small pieces, italian dressing and blue cheese chunks and its served as a cool salad in summer.

its bizarre that its actually quite good, but it really is- its salty, crunchy, savory and a bit tart. sadly my wife loathes grapefruit so i no

poop, these were not ‘good’ podcasts in a lot of respects- they were slickly produced but derivative and felt kind of superfluous. but they were great for putting on while doing something where if you zoned out for a minute or two, you didn’t feel the need to rewind. i listen to them a lot while doing projects

it seems odd that you can’t just buy a bucket of the spice mix for any of these things- i’d buy a lot of this stuff and spoon it over the fresh noodles from the store, or even over other random soups. i already add sriracha to random chicken noodle soup and such, i’d totally put a teaspoon of pre-mixed ramen spice

i think the broader problem is that she was literally selling her vegan diet- she apparently makes a living selling these vegan cleanses and vegan recipes/meal plans to her followers. so she’s sitting there telling everyone that they can be happy and healthier eating vegan (just 49.99 if you order now!) but on advice

i also felt a little bit gross that the character danny huston plays was an actual person- eric ludendorff. like many ww1 generals and leaders, he’s hardly some blameless babe in the woods in a lot of respects, but casting him as an actual psycho who planned to commit massive war crimes and did supernatural blow to

a lot of hotels will do your laundry for you, although they can be pricey

i have been to shanghai and you are 100% correct. its an incredible city.

and frankly, there’s a KFC on every corner in shanghai and every hotel in the city has a perfectly good western style menu. the hotels are all really nice. i guess the nightlife is a little bit odd (for a city that dwarves NYC, it shuts down

he’s nailed horror and comedy now and he’s going to be doing high concept sci-fi on TV soon, which i am psyched for. that leaves a few fun places he could go- i’m rooting for a historical drama, just because i think it would be fascinating to see what he would want to tackle.

This sounds really good and I look forward to being forced to watch it when my wife is out of town and my kid is asleep for an hour in bits and pieces, largely undercutting the dramatic effect.

i mean seriously, google ‘diabetic foot’ if you aren’t wanting to eat for a month

maybe because as i pointed out earlier heart disease is the most common killer of women in america:

in fact, i found a study of 1960 to 1999 with convenient graphs-

heart disease is the most common killer of women in america:
