its weird watching it now though- the gritty world of hells kitchen! where a hipster might spill ramen from their pop up restaurant on your leather shoes!

i never got the impression aaron hernandez was an honest-to-god serial killer (who's stash house was like half a mile from my home at the time) but here we are

i feel like gronk is fairly self aware. he's built a persona as a loveable doofus and he'll poke fun at it and skewer his own image. lochte comes across as strangely insecure (despite all his success) and like he's just trying way, way to hard.

the problem of course was that the show wasn't particularly funny on a consistent basis. the panel (ostensibly the core of the show) was extremely weak. you can appreciate the issues and what wilmore was trying to do and still admit that it wasn't done with any real success

i made the mistake of not heeding your warning. it gets really weird just a short scroll down from here

i feel like we learned something about rabin's fetish in this article

as opposed to the gen Xers who's ethos was 'everything sucks and let me endlessly tell you about it' or the the 'fuck you, we got ours' boomers?

i think it would be more accurate to say that galley slaves were a huge thing in the med *many* centuries after the romans. i suppose from a pure 'motif' standard it doesn't matter but a roman naval ship and a barbary slave galley have about as much in common as a british ship of the line and an aegis class cruiser do

good news then- the movie isn't opening until christmas and its only august!

i was actually intrigued by this idea until we got to the very last sentence- if this was an adam mckay movie, i could see it being good. but etan cohen? its going to be a lame hackfest full of standard gay panic, poop and genital jokes.

you can buy and play KOTOR on most smart phones for ~5 bucks these days.

yeah- it was clear she had never seen any man before and that was the source of her fascination. i thought that was a standard trope of her modern origins?

that… that was not good

why not finance a used one? i think the current rate on a used car loan is like 1.2% if you meet the qualifications. you should be able to make more than 1.2% taking the loan and investing that cash, even in a fairly tight market

not that one would expect a single surprise in a movie such as this, but that trailer was the entire movie, start to finish

It's fascinating (given how this mission actually went down) that they went with an accurate rendition. Good for them- it's a fascinating story irl, even if it doesnt follow Hollywood convention.

i call bullcrap on this whole review- horatio sans was never funny.

Every extended interview I've ever heard with him, he sounds like he'd be a riot to hang out with- really dry, really self deprecating sense of humor

wait- the realistic outcome is that he is a writer for a newspaper? in what, 1982?

they vary in quality- the first few are generally good although they lean heavily on pretty broad christian imagery and moral thought. they get weirder as they go along. I'm honestly not sure i'd advise an adult to pick them up fresh, but they are extremely quick reads, so you can always try the first one and if it
