I also went to school for philosophy, so maybe I’ve just been trained this way? I don’t expect pat answers or complete resolutions and that is comfortable to me in a way that walking away from a potential for change is not. I understand that it’s not a comfortable or possible role for everyone, however, or even for me

To offer a completely different reason for staying: I would choose to stay and talk to the man because there is a possibility of making it better for some other trans person. It makes it easier in a way, knowing how little he thinks of trans people. You don’t have to wonder or guess, like with everyone else. So we’d

To try and change their mind??

So basically she’s saying “I cried on the inside.”

It’s the other one, who I assume is named after his father’s dystopian hero Ayn Rand. So no, the class isn’t likely to cover any of those thought-provoking classics. I imagine it will be an objectivist, libertarian circle jerk.

I, I, I. Unless it’s a group he doesn’t like. But never any “we” or “us.”

Teddy “Two Axiom-Ligament Knee Braces” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

I’ve heard the heart stuff, too. Anecdotally, I did know an avid runner who had a heart attack and died while running. Died happy, at least.

I get people’s reasoning, to a point. But I don’t understand a person thinking that their tiny, microscopic amount of knowledge should apply to every situation in the world. I feel like it should be obvious that maybe my scraps of knowledge don’t apply to really anything but my life. Even then it’s suspect. What gets

It was a sad interview. She reflected on how poorly she acted as a father. I think she knows now that living authentically won’t really change those relationships because it won’t undue the hurt. You can see how lonely she is but that she doesn’t really have the skills to connect with her kids the way they need her

There is only one actor who seems to have any real grasp of the working folk.

Pretty realistic, unfortunately.

That makes a lot of sense, if her parents are also pharmacists in the book.

Even running is only for rich people now. I was planning to run my first marathon this summer and was shocked by the price tag. It’s sad to see that such a simplistic activity has been so regulated and monetized. Will I be “banditing” a race? I’m not sure yet, but I do know I can’t afford to run one anytime soon.

I agree, but it’s not fair that he got fired and CBS gets to go wild basking in the coverage, including news segments about this guy getting fired. Ridiculous

Some people have periods....Willing to bet the person who said “Go to the bathroom before you get on the plan” isn’t one of those people.

Corporations ARE people.

And they seem to have no grasp on how much a victory in a place that went so strongly Trump would mean. This is where they SHOULD be throwing money.
