Fresh Prince of Bel Air was the perfect tonic for Family Matters.

This aired at the same time as Parker Lewis Can’t Lose which had a similar approach of being about a handsome, popular kid and his friends (who included one nerd) but that show was actually funny.
“I Dream of Jeannie, Wonder Woman, Charlie’s Angels, Lost in Space, Gilligan’s Island, Gomer Pyle USMC, The Donna Reed Show, The Munsters,”
I agree with the Disney Afternoon stuff. Duck Tales was the rare kids show that didn’t talk down to its audience.
* Bonus points if it was a photocopy
“and I find myself heartened by living in a culture where the curiosities of the “nerd” have not only been normalized, but also reflected in mass-market entertainment like Marvel and Star Wars.”
The Big Bang Theory looks like Seinfeld compared to this shit. Shit, Full House is sophisticated next to this show.
The good thing about the culture shift since this show is that nowadays, Zach and Slater would likely be the villains in a series. And despite his status as the “geek” in the bunch, Screech was actually kind of an asshole (in the series - IRL, another dimension of asshole entirely).
I worked in the copy room at a law firm a few years ago and we had a framed photo of The Richmeister above the desk, taking his rightful place as the patron saint of people who make copies.
I walk by, and he calls me trash, right in front of my kids.
You humiliated yourself in front of your kids when you *took* the job, dipshit.
“I walk by, and he calls me trash, right in front of my kids.”
“Fox News host Jesse Watters has finalized a divorce with his ex-wife after an affair with a 26-year-old staffer at the Trump-friendly network, which in recent years has been rocked by high-profile departures of talent in the wake of multiple employee harassment lawsuits.”
Please, for further amusement look up what Watters’ own mother thinks about him. My favorite is where she told him to read more books.
No.
I got $500 that says his kids think he’s trash, too.
Is anyone surprised that the people who love to “tell it like it is” and rail against “political correctness” are the first to curl up in a little ball when somebody says some mean words to them?
So the two of them are just having a beef.
The problem, however, is that the second episode they pulled was the season finale and the reason wasn’t anything to do with guns — it was because the students attacked the Mayor (who had turned into a giant snake) with crossbows and flamethrowers and then blew up the school. So...not really comparable at all.
