I don’t know if I am comfortable calling SPRING BREAKERS a “good” movie, but I think it is almost certainly something that you will remember.

Minor characters in the first film could end up being major characters in subsequent films. In a near-certain hit like a BATMAN movie, you may as well just invest in good actors now and then call them up down the road when you need them again.

Farrell has always been elevating whatever movie he’s in - I think he just got too much early-career “It Guy!” buzz without equivalent, major hits to hang his reputation on. Now people either think he’s a light-weight, or a has-been (or both).

Looks like a lot of stuff I won’t be paying $15/month to watch.

It could have been interesting to just call this TERMINATOR 3: DARK FATE since they were going to wipe away the three most recent movies, including the original TERMINATOR 3.

These days I would assume that a parent who let their primary-school-age kid watch GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES would get Child Services called on them.  Man what a good movie, but oh my what a punch to the gut.

THE PACIFIC is good, but it is much heavier that BOB, and much more sad overall. BOB is almost cartoonishly heroic and upbeat compared to THE PACIFIC, which is usually horrific.

Yeah I can already anticipate the complaining about a future S3 of ALTERED CARBON being “derivative of GEMINI MAN”.

Honestly it wasn’t until about two weeks ago that I realized this new JOKER movie was *not* by Todd Haynes, but was instead by the HANGOVER guy. Which was a huge disappointment when I learned it.
