Many of the ‘name equivalents’ are the result of etymology ... certain names across different nationalities / languages came from the same source, and in Western Civilization, the two most common sources are the Bible and Ancient Rome.

Twelve? I counted ten. I watched the vid thrice, and counted even the most tangentially stretched associations:

FSA’s are terrible. They are NOT investments, and unless you have a chronic illness (or are the parent of a chronically sick child), there’s no way in hell that an FSA is worth the hassle. An FSA is of benefit ONLY to people with regular and constant medical expenses and in possession of near-OCD level anal retentive

The corporate entities / apps are pimps, the drivers are whores.

What I don’t understand is why so many people continue to call the parking brake an “emergency brake”.

I feel that you have every right to be completely pissed off at the driver for being a bad driver and running into you ... unaware of his surroundings and not paying attention to what he’s doing, etc. etc., and I wholeheartedly agree that his behavior was dangerous in that incident. But not knowing him, I can’t argue

Someone just re-named their dog “Dog,”

That day will come, I’m sure of it. And I’m also sure it won’t likely be within the next 20 years unless there is a major socio-political shakeup of epic proportions, along the lines of nuclear war or unbelievably radical ocean level rise. Don’t expect autopilot cars to be a common sight for about another 10 years,

Just to be clear, it’s perfectly legal to drive into as many ANYthings you want as long as there’re no injuries or damage.

friends studying CS at GA Tech....they still don’t know simple things like changing DNS,setting a static IP, or partitioning a hard drive

I think the value (and core knowledge base) you get from a CS degree is variable based on the actual school and their defined program of study that you’re in. Not all CS classes and degrees are identical from school to school.

Most fairy lights have unshielded wires,

Yeah, I’d have to say that the only people in the real world who pick locks are lockpicking hobbyists and folk playing at cloak-n-dagger spy stuff whether or not they’re actually spies.

Wrong. Utterly and completely. These things deserve ALL the hate. They are an abomination not because you have to learn a new format, but because you have to look away from the road in order to use the fucking controls.

I’ve never seen an American car with that ‘3 blink’ feature ... if some offer it now, it’s only because they want to be like the Germans. This fad, to my knowledge, was started by BMW.

I can’t even begin to imagine the mental and physical issues with people who can’t handle normal turn signal controls. It only takes one finger.

Sounds to me that the vast majority of complainants were people who unreasonably expected something other than what they bought ... negligently under-informed consumers who failed to perform due diligence in researching the cars before they bought them. Cheap luxury car “feels cheap” ... cheap SPORTS car has a “rough

I dunno if they’ll ever truly be accepted by the self-anointed, but I’ve always liked the big 5-mph bumpers, especially on big American cars of the era. In addition to actually being functional, they added visual length and implied gravitas to any already impressive beast.

Does anybody have a link to the original sources for these vids? I’d like to find the original stepwise presentations so that I could actually read the friggin labels and click through the changes at my own pace.

This I don’t get ... why do you need a fitbit (or tracker of any kind/brand) to tell that you aren’t sleeping well? When I wake up in the morning, I know if I slept well or not. Are you really unable to tell if you’re sleeping well at night?
