I concur with Fahey. I like the whole silent protagonist deal better in that it allows the player to project their personality on their character. It may not be as deep as pen-and-paper games, but such things are elemental in RPGs. Now, they're taking it away...

@RTS: I've played and beaten Boktai titles 1, 2, and 3 (which never made it out of Japan). The story was cookie-cutter, but the puzzles were ingenuous and defeating them made you feel smarter (if you didn't breakdown and go to GameFAQs).
