Really? All humans? What if they’re blind? What if they have a profound intellectual disability? What if they’re in a vegetative state? Not all humans are capable of some of the defining characteristics that separate humans from animals. We don’t kill people who don’t meet these standards, we care for them. We act as

“I mean, animals are not capable of “inner lives” as she says it. Chickens brain capacity is nil. Even dogs, as much as I love them are incapable of appreciating art, or building a city. “

I can relate. I would beat myself up about the percentage I scored on a test or paper. Like even if I got an A, I would agonize that I scored a 94% instead of a 96%, and if I scored a 96%, I would lament that it wasn’t 100%.

But it’s not just “one chicken”. It’s thousands, maybe millions. I’m with DonnaDraper on this one.

There are more types of plant based foods than animal derived foods. I realize if you are used to only one type of diet, it could be difficult to conceptualize another, but I can honestly say, I eat a wider variety of food as a near vegan than I ever did when I ate meat.

So what are you suggesting? That we allow asswipes like Palmer to trophy hunt lions until they ARE an endangered species and THEN be morally outraged?

Honestly, I had more issues with anemia before I switched to a mostly vegan diet. Eating a wide variety of plant based foods should take care of any nutrient deficiencies you are worried about.

This might sound cheesy, but journaling. A lot of my insomnia is anxiety related, and getting some of my worries out if my head really helps. I also try to limit screen time at least an hour before bed. Melatonin or benadryl and a big, Russian novel help as well.

“Which states consider a parent giving a 13 year old child a haircut that the child doesn’t want “assault.”

“Ce la vie.”

But we do have the lake effect, which is *almost* as bad as on Official Gossip Girl day. Almost.

Those covers though.

She also hates therapists because she believes they use their patients to work out their own issues. And she defended the mother in article jez posted a while back who abandoned her many children to go on a month long vacation. She’s a real piece of work.

There’s a “Pregnancy Resource Center” right next door to one of the the Planned Parenthood buildings here in Salt Lake City. Every time I pass by, I am overcome with an urge to mercilessly picket them in the same fashion anti-choice nutters protest the Planned Parenthood. Can we make this a thing?

Nancy, what the fuck are you talking about please? Do have references for all the times Jezebel or intersectional feminists have defended they Duggars? My impression has been that feminist sites, including Jezebel have been extremely critical of the Duggars.

Those seem like private events, not public as you mentioned in your op. However, when she was taken in public,

Then you are remembering it wrong.

“Remember that young girl who got kidnapped years ago and was put into a burka and paraded around by the old man who took her? She wasn’t found for months because she was so scared and NOBODY said or did anything about a very concerning and public dynamic.”

There is no doubt in my mind that fear can give you crazy adrenaline induced strength, but if they were really concerned about her potential harm to others why couldn’t they use medical restraints (medication used to calm/subdue a patient such as thorazine)? Do we know if she was on medication? Medical restraints are

I would steer clear of factory farmed meats though, so you don’t end up supporting the very institution that is causing the need for these animals to be rescued in the first place. Honestly, the very best thing you can do is to avoid animal products as much as possible (for a myriad of other reasons in addition to
