The show has only been nominated for a total of 6 Emmys, and four of those nominations have been for Ted Danson and Maya Rudolph.
How about the fact it’s the philosophical morality lesson humanity desperately needs these days, but made funny and relatable with one of the most talented casts and joke writers in the medium today and nearly every other episode, the show completely upends where we thought it would go? Or how much fun rewatching it…
I’m going to take you seriously for a bit here even if you’re not (I can’t tell).
If nothing else it's a good vibe to put out there; it's ultimately a show about trying to do better and about helping others do better. I think that's worth appreciating.
Seriously though - this is the hardest I’ve laughed at the show all season.
Maybe a strange thought to have during this particular episode but how has this show never been nominated for a costume design Emmy? In addition to the always fantastic Bad Place retro fashion, costumes are massively important on this show and between fantasy elements and flashbacks and do-overs costuming has to be a…
Of course Tahani volunteered to be test subject. She strives to be the perfect host so making sure everyone finishes training with best possible understanding of the rules is something she would try to help with. But I’d thought that after she made up with Kamilah in her last life it’d be easier to say something nice…
This is about dealing with letting go. And facing the life after.
See I haven’t seen any of Justified either but I loved that line.
Yeah when I was considering whether to watch this I compared it in my head to “Dexter” because in the earlier seasons before it went off the rails he did some really bad things such as murder and lying to loved ones and being a shitty boyfriend (partially due to the aforementioned murder and lying about it) yet I…
They say love conquers all, but that only applies to the hero. Is the enemy what he’s meant to be? Is being the villain his destiny?
So I guess what you’re saying is:
You’s second season sets up a similar departure for its antihero, as Joe flees New York and the spirit of his dead girlfriend for the obnoxiously sunny hills of Los Angeles
The situation’s a lot more nuanced than that
He’s just a boy in love - he can’t be held responsible for his actions!
Apparently it’s SUPER IMPORTANT to national security that they explain exactly how they’re going to sexually assault you before they sexually assault you.
Having been on the other side of that, it comes off as rude when you do that. Intent is irrelevant; when you’re cutting someone off to tell them to just get on with it, it’s rude. Your intent doesn’t matter. And you’re showing your ass there with that sexual assault comment. It is not a national security issue, it is…
And you said you got pissed because it was 4:45 in the morning.
People forced to take a low wage job are shitty people? Who suck the life out of you?
