I’m not certain ( not a grammar nazi or an English teacher) but I think both are actually okay.

I like both Messi and Ronaldo. I think they’re both head and shoulders above all other active players. I have never understood the bizarre urge people have to lionize one and vilify the other. The double standard here is pretty insane. If Portugal loses to Poland ( I’m fairly sure they will ) and its because Ronaldo

I’m surprisingly hungry after reading that headline. I haven’t had chili in months.

If you want to include all senior level competitions then UEFA CL rates higher, Copa Libertadores doesn’t, Europa League doesn’t, nor does any national league. Winning the Copa America is prestigious, and it’s considered a major tournament because the general level of play in CONMEBOL is really high ( Bolivia and

Champions league is a club competition, not an international one.

Arteta is also a fantastic passer, and they usually are good at pks, didn’t Xavi have a really good pk percentage?

That’s honestly better than should be expected of them. By European standards, Portugal kinda suck, Ronaldo or no Ronaldo.

I thought the Belgium-Hungary game was bad. I’m so disappointed in the disunity, disorganization and selfishness in the Belgian squad and I wouldn’t be surprised if they fall to Wales.

Gotcha.

Messi shouldn’t be at the average though, wouldn’t you agree? Ronaldo is close to 90% and he and Messi are about equal as finishers. He’s worse than he should be.

It’s become an issue in every major team sport now it seems ( even baseball players occasionally hit the deck to fake an HBP ).

Ronaldo made it to the quarter finals with not-very-good Portugal. I think he already wins this round.

He has an Olympic gold medal, but it’s basically a youth tournament.

Only the World Cup and the Euro’s are bigger, but keep on thinking that.

Maybe he and Cavani are having a competition that only they understand.

Biglia, but yeah. Messi gets most of the credit when they win, and it’s a double edged sword unfortunately for him. You can tell that he knows it too based on his reactions.

The Euro’s have been really bad. Super conservative boring games. They should have never expanded the field.

Th best Chilean player didn’t take a pk because he was subbed off. Vidal had his kick saved, Messi didn’t put his on frame, that’s worse.

They basically all get paid by their federations and they also get bonuses for performance.

Messi misses nearly a quarter of the penalties he takes. That’s unacceptable for a player of his ability and I’m not sure he should even be in the shootout.
