Matt Czuchry is a really limited actor. He's got a few emotions: 1.) smug, mirthful amusement, 2.) jealous anger, 3.) everything else.

I think Marty is a certain kind of guy. He has his good points, such as being down for the Marx Brothers marathon. But he showed his true colors when he hid the nature of his friendship with Rory. If he had his way he would have dumped Lucy the moment Rory batted her pretty eyelashes at him. Low class.
