I'm not an expert on USB hubs. One thing that I'm wondering about is whether most USB hubs can supply the required power to multiple charging devices without problems or really long charge times. Can anyone explain this?

Have you looked at Jott? (www.jott.com). You call the service and tell it to send a message to a person in your contact list. if that contact is an SMS contact, it'll do voice-transcription and send a text message to that person's phone. Works for Twitter, too.
