The first five or so episodes were quite good as well—the middle sagged a bit for sure, but I’d rate this show a solid 7/10, just about what I’d give the first season of the Simpsons (Futurama, controversially enough, easily had the strongest first season of all three).

Did this fail, though? By my estimates, it was largely successful and consistently very entertaining. 

Season 2 will be the real test for this show. Not only is it when Matt Groening shows typically find their groove, but they set up so much for it here that they can really make the most of the serialized format. A lot of this season, the show felt like it didn’t know what it wanted to be. Futurama was about a package…

Since he is green and pug-nosed, I’d say he is half something else, like ogre. I hate Elfo, but learning he is only half-elf at least satisfies one of the issues I had, which was that he isn’t the same as any other elf. Being named Elfo makes sense now, too, like they are overcompensating for him not being full-elf.

That feeling that you do want to drink away is disappointment.

Luci has definitely become my favorite character. Gotta root for the evil guy with personality.
