Yep - I swung between the extremes in my youth - the naïve undergrad who though communism was clearly the answer to the ills of the world to the jaded slightly older naive undergrad who though that libertarianism and FREEDOM! (tm) provided all the answers.

The Citroën GSA was also nice :

Spreading a lean team across massive corporation will effectively put an end to the wild stuff we're seeing now and the industry wide shift to EV will likely make it difficult for those ICE engineers to shine.  Certainly some will continue to push for crazy engines, let's hope I'm wrong.

This actually sounds like the worst to me. I live in a far northern city (US, but further north than a majority of the population of Canada) which is probably the hilliest in the Midwest (the real, actual Midwest, not the pretend one existing only in the imagination of New Yorkers which begins in Buffalo and goes west

The minefield between Mauritania and Morocco / Western Sahara is quite tense the first time you drive through it. Stay on the soft sand - if you think you see a road surface, that’s more likely to have landmines.

Looking at something like this, I can’t imagine ever buying a Tesla. However I get that I am the ONLY one who feels that way based on how many Teslas I see out and about.

Most countries have intelligence agencies. Russia is an intellegence agency that happens to have a country.

This has nothing to do with their space program, and everything to do with the free flow of information. Russia’s FSB makes America’s NSA look quaint in comparison. Your civil liberties and right to privacy in Russia have to compete with an intelligence apparatus that shreds privacy like 1989 Mike Tyson.

I’m irrationally excited about these. Ever since I traded in my CTS V-Sport, I regretted it. It was a great car, and I just... ugh... I really screwed the pooch there.

Man, I really miss Cadillac’s “Art & Science” theme—the origami look with the sharp creases everywhere. Now the Cadillacs are as meh-rounded as the other sedans still left on the market—so dull.

The odds of getting a bad mechanic are pretty high. Like, really high. It’s one of the biggest pain in the asses of owning a car.

All depends on area. Here in WI, simple things like oil changes are messed up by mechanics.

So much this.

Escalation of Force

If it weren’t for PB Blaster, I’d have to walk to the store.

Investors aren’t looking at anything with Tesla, it’s just pure delusion.

The P/E ratio is currently over 1,600. Investors would have to legitimately believe that Tesla’s future market cap will be $32 trillion? 15x more than the current most valuable company?
