Yeah, I might eventually have forgiven someone who made a drunken move while my husband and I were dating long-distance, but we couldn't have been friends again. (Sober conversation followed by them taking some time away to get over it would've been different.)

But then it'd be falling down.

Um, dude, making your girlfriend bleed 'cause your dick's too big is probably not a thing you want to brag about.

That bracelet is a bigger red flag for me than anything else in the letter. Throwing jewelry at the almost-cheating is never going to solve the problem. Unless the strap on is diamond-encrusted, too.

Just try not to go into your dates thinking of yourself as vegetables, or that's probably what they'll see, too. Or at least try and make sure you're, I dunno, squash blossoms or pancetta-wrapped asparagus or something.

He was. At the time of the apology, he had about a month to respond. I hope they sue him anyway. It's not all that hilarious when you have friends who could have been there with their kids.

I think he's worried the housekeeper might take it on herself to inform the wife. Although even that would just be awkward at worst.

Interesting. I always read that as her trying to reassure people she's given up the label so as not to give ammunition to the "See? You gals do just need to find a good man!" crowd. But that could obviously be me wearing hetero privilege blinders.

You're missing the point, though. Right now, white dorky dudes are the only ones who buy the comics because white dorky dudes are the only ones really being encouraged to buy the comics. It doesn't have to be that way just because white dorky dudes (in management or otherwise) can't really imagine anything else.

Funny thing about that is, DC's doing better now that it abandoned the whole "we're only concerned with our core white guy demographic" nu52 strategy, and decided to just focus on telling good stories.

Exactly. There's a lot you could do to explore Cap's role and symbolism in the current political climate without blatant Nazi stand-ins, and the fact that things will go back to status quo eventually just means people are waiting for it to hurry up and be over already.

Except that if you only focus on that segment of the audience, to the exclusion or even outright alienation of non-white, non-male readers, you're going to keep watching your base shrink as some of those core readers leave or die off and aren't replaced with enough new ones. The idea that only guys are into

My dad worked behind the scenes on the D.C. version of Bozo and assorted other Channel 20 shows. It was easily the happiest time of his life.

Oh, sweetie. No one thinks you can take her.

Be honest: whose whereabouts are you really more concerned with?

Yeah, I was kind of afraid the reference would sail right over the heads of the bill's supporters: "Ah, at least some gals still appreciate good old-fashioned modesty!"

To be fair, at least some of the captions suggest these are being sent in by castmates (or possibly the actors themselves) as a form of loving mockery.

Boy, someone's got a hate-on for the Gyllenhaal version.

Because people keep clicking hoping it's about the Joseph Gordon Levitt and Bruce Willis movie, and leaving disappointed. Oh, no, wait, that's why I'm angry about them.

That's what inspiring flashbacks/dream sequences are for!
