I think Pattinson was deliberately setting out to prove that Edward was a terrible love interest, and got frustrated when the audience ate it up anyway.

I feel like Adam Sandler's cartoon Dracula would eat Edward out of principle.

I think of her work as Dickensian: her prose isn't going to win any awards on its own, and she takes big narrative shortcuts sometimes, but she's got a real knack for easily digestible social commentary and bringing characters to life with a name and a few lines of description.

Reading them doesn't exactly require the sort of commitment that creates wear and tear. I finished the first one in its entirety on a half hour Metro ride. Didn't feel the need to continue the series.

Yeah, but these are people who proudly admit to being the worst people on earth. Given the fact that they somehow found spouses in the first place, I find it a lot easier to believe those spouses share their views than that the TV production company didn't do what reality TV shows have done multiple times before.
