Your life was hard so you lack compassion for creatures that can’t relate to your own personal suffering? There is an option there where you can care about both of them. I guarantee you the people who would hurt an animal are the same kind of sickos that hate the less fortunate of us.

What kind of argument is this? Just because some people mistreated you it’s not ok for other people to mistreat animals. Empathy is not a finite resource. You of all people, should be asking for more kindness in the world not less, and I say this as someone who got plenty of abuse as a child

Maybe you don’t know this, but most people are perfectly capable of being upset by more than one issue at a time. Crazy, right? Someone can be deeply upset at the way human beings AND animals are treated! At the same time!

I really hope everyone in your life knows not to let you around animals.
