So you go to see a band play and Screwdriver is the surprise opener. You’re cool with that?

Yeah but there’s a difference between a comic who isn’t to your taste and a straight up, well documented bigot.

While I like Kate McKinnon, I don’t think it’ll be felt as much as people think. She’s sorta held back people like Heidi Gardner and Chloe Fineman in that both are talented sketch performers but SNL understandably feels the need to put Kate out there as much as possible. Others can’t really grow with her soaking up so

Yeah her ability to use the same 3 voices for 30 characters was impressive

As much as I love Kate, it was time for her to go. She’s been in late-period-Wiig mode for the past four or five years. Aidy, though...that’s going to sting.

All our heroes worked on Pee Wee in this house.

I liked a lot of the Netflix Marvel stuff. Jessica Jones was great (though like three episodes too long, like all of them), Luke Cage was well cast, if often weirdly limp, Daredevil was often pretty darn good, Punisher was good, and Iron Fist should never have been made and everyone involved with it except Jessica

This is Umbrella Academy. It’s likely to be a WWII-era weapon that creates black holes.

A couple of times through this review/set up, there’s a sense of “we don’t know what’s going to happen”...isn’t that the point? Do we want to know everything that’s not revealed in the trailer before we watch the show? The official Disney show description is “laughably opaque”???

Yeah, I was like “did nobody tell them?”

I’m excited for this for one reason only - to see McGregor’s take on Kenobi without the oppressive weight of George Lucas’ terrible dialogue and plotting.

Duchess Satine Kryze, who hasn’t been announced as a character in the series but would make for an extremely cool one.

Makes sense. I loved the podcast but I stopped listening very shortly after PJ left, and I’d imagine I’m not alone. None of that later pods captured the casual vibe that made the earlier eps so much fun.

Reportedly...but I will check that out.

“THE defining period from for the modern YA generation” / THE defining period film for the modern YA generation.”

That was the later volumes, V2 was the War of the Worlds arc.

Stop. This is how you end up at “no tights, no flights”. No one wants a superhero show with no superheroing. Luke Cage barely punched anyone, it was ridiculous. Loki did ok (granted, I watch in 720P in the garage) I thought.

I was kinda looking forward to this one so I’m sorry to see it get such a low score. I mean, I’ll probably watch it anyway, because I’m a sucker for anything that even kinda evokes Roger Rabbit. Hopefully I'll end up disagreeing with the review, but at worst... well I never watched Rescue Rangers in the first place

I hope it is set on Tatooine. It seems like there could be a good opportunity to dig into what is going on there.

Technically Bart, Millhouse, Martin, and Nelson didn’t steal a car, they just illegally rented one with a fake ID.
