Nah, you’re looking at it all wrong. The car America should most be ashamed of is the Tucker 48. The fact that the big 3 were able to abuse and use the laws and government of the US to squash one of the most advanced cars in the world at the time is what we should really be ashamed of.

It’s really a shame that companies like Ford are behind in this at all. They were handed so many opportunities to get ahead in stuff like hybrids and EVs. Governments, particularly the US government, gave them money be ahead. Still, they find a way for be caught flat footed by every major shift in the market.
