I for one couldn't care less how they "interact with their surroundings," unless in so doing they either:
the fact that countless places that serve watered down and Americanized (read: white) versions of various ethnic cuisines proves that point exactly.
Italian dim sum...now there's a concept. As if I don't overeat enough when I go to an Italian place.
Coercion makes the world go 'round. It has been ever thus.
I don't have any particular desire to hunt (I do fish), but there's nothing inherently wrong or disturbing about it (though it can get gross at times). Most hunters view taking a life as serious business, and approach it with a degree of reverence.
I never figured Jezebel readers for making pro-gun arguments. I actually agree with every point you made. Unfortunately, lots of people (including some here) won't accept your argument.
You know, I actually don't disagree with this in principle. If I could be assured that no one - I mean, not one solitary individual or group in the world - would ever have a gun or other weapon and try to use it offensively, I'd be totally down for getting rid of them all.
Hearing about situations like that makes me wonder if it'd be good to carry a handful of inch-and-a-half firecrackers and a lighter around. Mob scene starts to form, and you just start lighting 'em off. Nothing scatters a crowd faster than something that sounds like gunfire.
It really frosts me when people don't distinguish between Des Moines, Iowa and Des Moines, Washington.

Seems like maybe someone needs to put together a funding campaign to build clinics that conform to the bullshit laws, if for no other reason than to piss off these assholes.
So...you're drunk by the end of every dinner with your mom? I know *I* would be if my mom acted that way...
Sorry, I can't support you - I voted Kodos last election.
Foreigners I can almost excuse; they might not know (though they should learn the customs of the countries they visit, I'd think).
I'm sure you, undoubtedly pure as the wind-driven snow, have never contemplated revenge, there, Siddartha.
