It bothers me that pretty much every obituary I’ve read on McCain completely ignores that he was a member of the Keating Five, and that he had gotten embroiled in the whole S&L debacle after spending less than a year in Congress.

In the first case, it was the victim who was a rich white guy, so of course the criminal had to be put away. In the second, the criminal was the rich white guy so he deserves all the chances in the world to rehabilitate himself.

The difference being that Chapman couldn’t get away with shooting someone on the streets of New York.

But at least we’d know what happened to the Russian in the woods- he was sent back to Russia with a huge bag of cash for his boss.

Heck- at this point, releasing the tapes would just legitimize using the word among the GOP.  I think part of their frustration at Obama during his presidency was that they couldn’t come right out and complain about the n****r in the White House.  Releasing the Trump tapes would just make the word acceptable to use on…

I’m more worried about 2024- at this point I’ve come to accept the sad fact that there is nothing to stop Trump from getting re-elected in 2020. My fear is that Trump will find a way to not step down in 2024 and name himself President for life.

Logan Paul really seems like a person whose last words are either going to be “Hold my beer.” or “You think that’s badass?  Watch this.”
