Amused that I see articles that talk about “how to win at Wordle.” The game doesn’t use the term “win”; it’s only in the mind of the player, which is one of the endearing features. Everyone can feel good playing Wordle.

I just yesterday published my new twist on oven-baked bacon. By zig-zagging it, you can stand the slices up. Results are crispier and you cook twice as much bacon at once. See:
They are great for cooling soups and stews. If you put hot soup in the fridge, it warms everything up and the soup still takes many hours to chill. Leave the soup out and toss a few frozen bottles in to get them to within fridge range.
You spelled it wrong. It’s “the Puzzlah.”
I tried it when it was first released here, at one of the pilot locations. My review: https://feedme.typepad.com/my_weblog/2019/06/the-case-for-meatless-meat.html
Lots of comments here about how ISPs really don’t care what your speedtest shows. True enough but here are a couple of points.
RTFM, eh!
Always-on 12 V is fine but probably wise to add an inline fuse. The always-on line you tap is surely fused but when adding amateur wiring, it’s a simple enough precaution.
Maybe even better, this one has a slicker display: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0GR0FQ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4
You can get a single part that does the whole job (USB dashboard mounted receptacle powered from 12 V) rather than the two parts he used. And for about $12 instead of $25.
The replies here are kinda correct, kinda not. What’s true is that it depends on the strip. Some have a check breaker, some have surge protectors, some have switches. All of them have a rating (e.g. “Output 100-240 VAC, 10 A, 1250 W”) and all appliances have a power rating. While you can plug a high-wattage device…
Make-ahead gravy. Easy and amazing.
And don’t underestimate the power of coincidence. Our minds are wired to notice outliers. How many times have I talked about x and had it NOT show up on my feed? No one notices that — but one time, a cat food ad shows up after talking about cat food and our brains yell, “aMAzing!!”
They talked about that and showed masks and photos as examples. They claim to have engineered it so hacks like that don’t work.
Well done, Beth. I live in a celiac household and you have demystified and filtered through a lot of BS. Especially liked your kind sentiment, “That’s not how science works. Or friendship, for that matter.”
Great article!
Great article and you’re fairly representing the airlines’ position. They’re not fundamentally evil. Comfort aside, I think it’s a freekin miracle that they can deposit me several time zones away from where I am in half a day for a few hundred bucks.
Yep, this is a great showerhead. I installed mine and thought, “hmm, about the same as the one I replaced (which is a good one, tope rated). Then realized the valve was partly closed. Yeah, this is great!

Wow, great information. Thanks.

Not to be too pedantic about it, brown is considered better in beer circles. You made me curious, so I poked around and found pretty good evidence for brown over green. Probably no real difference if your oil is in a cupboard, not in sunlight or fluorescent light. But for what it’s worth:
