I source all my Ted Cruz info from his college roommate.

If someone ever makes a show called Ghost Catchers I might tune in.

Reading the transcripts of this interview fills me with rage as I remember the arguments I had with “independents” and “swing voters” about the importance of voting for Hilary solely to keep Trump from nominating federal and SCOTUS candidates.

The GOP motto is basically: “Government is broken. See, look how easily we keep breaking it.”

It’s amazing. I literally did that yesterday as a second-year lawyer, and I can’t imagine myself as remotely qualified to be a judge in small claims court, let alone an Article III federal judge.

It is so ridiculous and infuriating. Being a federal district court judge is actually a real fucking job. It’s not like serving as a an FEC commissioner where you can just work to knee-cap your own agency. There is actual work you have to do on a day-to-day basis to make the court function properly. And if you don’t

Up until now it’s been because we shouldn’t need laws like that. Because the whole advise-and-consent process is supposed to weed out dangerously underqualified candidates without consideration of partisan politics. One thing the Trump administration is showing is every crack and break in the process that has been

Yeah but, did he actually catch a ghost? That might tip the nomination in his favor.

Brett Talley had never tried a case and his wife is chief of staff to White House counsel Don McGahn; he also appeared to defend the KKK on a message board and used to be a ghost hunter.

Talley, the withdrawn ghost hunter nominee, DID do this. Hence the questioning.

HE’S NEVER EVEN TAKEN A DEPOSITION BY HIMSELF

How do we not have some basic qualifications that need to be met before anyone is even considered for these appointments? How is this not a thing for one of the most important jobs in our country?

“Any of you blog?” And, to clarify: “Any of you ever blogged in support of the Ku Klux Klan?”

Genuine question: do you think these guys know they’re puppets and pawns, or do you think they legitimately feel that they’re qualified and doing good work?

“Sir, what makes you qualified for this position?”

Did I miss all the news stories about Paul Ryan publicly calling for Farenthold et. al. to resign, or are we now giving him credit for behind the scenes machinations we’re just assuming are happening?

When does his term end and why not have him leave right away? Ryan making sure he has a reliable vote for the tax cuts?

Whew I was waiting for you to finish that story with “and then he tried to get in my pants.” What a pleasant surprise.

I had a classmate in high school who would constantly say my name, followed by “slob my knob.” It happened in a few different classes and everyone just always giggled while I saw there feeling mortified. I knew my one teacher could hear him but would pretend that she didn’t, which felt like such a betrayal (as a woman

It wasn’t a gropy feely harassment. It was verbal, and it was just as bad.
