I was much younger then (19), and quite upset because I had never really disappointed my parents. I’m older now, and I know she’s a narcissist who says and does a lot of things for attention, so now I just roll my eyes and ignore it.

I grew up in Mississippi and this is accurate. NOTHING I did or said broke my mother’s heart more than me being pro-choice. I distinctly remember her saying she failed as a mother and a Christian woman.

I spoke to my sister-in-law yesterday, a highly-educated heart nurse in Huntsville. She told me that she went to the polls and only voted for the local issues, leaving the Senate options blank, telling me that of course she couldn’t vote for Moore but the abortion issue kept her from voting for Jones.

The issue that democrats need to understand though - if they changed their platform and became the party of 100% prohibition no abortions for anyone - the republican purse strings would simply move the goalpost.
