You want to check out http://www.silentpcreview.com/Recommended_Fans which gives you all the info you want. I went with a Noctua NH-C12P which is small enough for non-ATX cases and was tested as quieter than some of the water based coolers.

I'd recommend connecting the CPU, PSU, memory and graphics card to the motherboard and testing that all your components work BEFORE you start assembling your PC. If your motherboard is broken, you'd want to know before you've screwed everything into the case - trust me!

ATX cases are, for me, just way too big and there is absolutely no point in having something that large. The advantage of mini-ITX is that you can put it on a desk next to your PC rather than on the floor as you would for ATX and even micro-ATX.

Try this instead (without the quotes) "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" and see if that works. Source: http://www.cravingtech.com/fix-windows-vista7-sleep-mode-from-waking-up-by-itself.html

There isn't nothing particularly bad with the instructions, just as long as something doesn't go wrong. Installing CM on the Desire HD was a breeze, on the HTC Tattoo and HTC Desire, less so. Got there in the end though :)

I'm exaggerating naturally (hence the smiley) but that was my experience of when installing CyanogenMod went wrong. Although the lack of camera and hardware acceleration are known issues on some of the builds for some of the phones.

It doesn't show fingerprints and, yes, I'd say it is prettier.

They forgot "Software updates? We don't get official software updates but we can root and re-flash a custom ROM in 42 steps spread over 12 pages of phpBB postings. Works great, provided you don't want the camera to work or hardware acceleration" :)

From the command line type (without the quotes) "powercfg -lastwake" and it'll show you what the last thing was that woke up your computer.

Yeah, me nether, which is why I found it a little odd. It was as if she was making a concious decision to keep it pointed at her face at all times. If it was me, I'd be waiving my hands around, the camera would be flailing all over the place and the viewer would probably have no idea what on earth is going on. Mind

Looks pretty ugly to me. Personally I think the SilverStone Sugo SG08 looks a far nicer Mini-ITX case. However it is quite a bit more expensive (~$200 including PSU), so I guess if you're on a budget then you need to compromise.

You're right, but she picked up the camera looked into it and then jumped for joy whilst still holding the camera at an odd angle pointing at her face. Maybe I'm just being overly cynical but it doesn't seem to be the most natural way to hold a camera when you're jumping around.

I found the end part a little suspect. Who picks up the camera and starts jumping up and down with it still pointing at them? Having seen videos on a compact digital camera that have been accidentally recorded instead of a picture being taken (due to the switch in the wrong place) it would be a little more realistic

It sounds like Allegra just learnt a valuable life lesson. It's a tough way for him to learn, but hopefully one he won't forget in the future.

Shame about the 4GB limit - although to be fair to Acer, most of the other manufacturers seem to fall flat on their face when it comes to the basics like keyboard, screen and/or trackpad. If they sort that limit out, this may actually be the first credible Ultrabook.

I'm sorry but if someone claims that the Cooler Master HAF X has a "sharp design" then I can't help automatically assuming they are about 15 years old.

A simpler article should have started "What Do Not Track doesn't do" and finished with "... anything". It's a piece of fluff functionality which will be privately ignored by all the companies you'd want to not track you.

With the exception of the Fractal Design Define Mini, all the other cases look like they were designed by 14 year old boys to be bought by 14 year old boys. Seriously, what is with the stupid grills, neon lights and odd shapes? Personally, I'm sticking with the SilverStone Temjin TJ08-E and shouting at kids to get off

My favourite quote comes from the shitmydadsays twitter feed: "Son, no one gives a shit about all the things your cell phone does. You didn't invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that."

Maybe my needs are minor, but I found that the Logitech Harmony 650 (which is half the price) does almost everything I could possibly want in a Universal Remote. The only big thing is that the 650 doesn't support RF - but then neither does this new Touch.
