Doomsday Book is in my top 3 all time favorite books - I read my copy so much I wore the punctuation off the page!  (It was printed in the really fine font, I guess trying to stay in keeping with the medieval theme.) It's worth a read if you're at all interested in history.

Three Men In A Boat is so funny, and when you realize it was written in something like 1888, it's just amazingly fresh!  And I did read To Say Nothing Of The Dog first, which I really enjoyed, and it spurred me on to read TMIAB.

What does Martin Sheen believe is the truth? Seriously, I never heard of this.

So I just looked up Tom Hardy - I don't think he's all that cute - sorry, Switters & Scrawler!  His mouth is awfully feminine; I don't think I'd like to kiss him and I'm attracted to some women!

I'm new to subways - I'm living near Boston now - and today I went downtown on the train and noticed a bunch of people standing in the doorways for their whole ride, barely moving over when the doors opened. Now these weren't newbies - I could tell - and the cars weren't full. Why would you stand right in the doorway

Can't remember the movie, but it was a completely full theatre so I couldn't move, and behind me sat someone translating the entire effing movie in one of those bitey-sounding Asian languages - every single freakin word! Now, I will occasionally make an apropos comment to a friend during a movie but this was just

That's the first show I thought of because I had such a strong reaction to the Demi Moore section - I actually ran in the bathroom and threw up!  (And I am not someone who throws up easily - the last two times I threw up I was in the ER.)  I'm not sure why it affected me so badly - I've never had an abortion and never

That is completely and utterly ridiculous, and totally believable.

I'm the opposite - I loved Dangerous Liaisons so much I never watched Valmont OR Cruel Intentions.  But I think enough time has passed now that I could watch either one - I'll have to put them on my Netflix queue.

I didn't get it for years, and then only when it was explicitly spelled out for me, I believe on an article here on the AV Club.
