I didn't get it for years, and then only when it was explicitly spelled out for me, I believe on an article here on the AV Club.

I was writing a paper for an Ethics class a number of years ago about whether there is anything too bad to joke about, and I was talking to my family about it, specifically dead baby jokes. My 12(?) year old sister said, "oh, dead baby jokes? Those are okay." Then I told her that people also make dead cat jokes, and…

I'm not sure I see the point in calling a show something that can't be printed in TV Guide. Is it because it's "edgy"? Cause it's really not. And on this same point, I was (trying to) watch Hot Tub Time Machine on CCHD (Comedy Central?) the other day and there were so many spaces (no bleeps any more, just blank…

How can you possibly manage to watch/follow 40-something shows regularly?! That's a honkin' lot of TV! I watch about 5 right now and a couple of those are only intermittent like Project Runway. I don't seem to be able to follow more than a few dramas at a time, and only for a certain amount of time - 4 or 5 years…

I just read the book a few days ago, and if they were to make a faithful adaptation of the book with a credible Tarzan, it could actually be a really good movie. No Cheetah, and no Jane until about halfway through. I think they might have to tone down the "Englishmen are inherently superior" bit, though - I'm pretty…

I don't actually like any of the whole storyline with Victoria leaving Klaus(?) at the altar and getting back together with Ted. 1) It seems unlikey that he would encourage her to do that after having been left himself; 2) why would they just start dating again like they'd just met; and 3) this Victoria is nowhere…

I forget about about THE HAWLEY-SMOOT TARIFF every once in a while, but then someone like you brings it up, and it all comes back to me! Then I have to go back and read some old Dave Barry again.
