Seriously, I was expecting them to point out the intrinsic dumbness of a karaoke tour featuring a singer with one of those vocal ranges that most mere mortals cannot ape- similar to an Adele bus. You’re going to hear a lot of voices cracking. And sometimes you can hear a song too many times and lose what was great

Thanks. It’s so easy to shit on it now and forget how much it meant to outsider kids in the 90s. Life-changing and powerful. Yeah, not so deep and a lot of clichés, but counterpoint: it’s a musical.

A lot of people’s critiques about how unrealistic it is don’t remember or don’t know NYC in the 90s. It was a rough place. AIDS was a major issue in the city. Alphabet City was completely different than it is now. And yeah, there were squatters in shitty buildings. NYC had an edge back then, even Manhattan. It wasn’t

Psst. Hey, everyone. It’s okay to like Rent. I know, I know, a lot of folks crap on nowadays. But, maybe like me, you grew up in the 90's and lived in the margins with the wierdos and outcasts. Or, maybe you were LGBTQ than and having something so mainstream celebrating your identity back than was thrilling. Maybe you

Unpopular Opinion: Freddie Mercury is the role of a lifetime for Malek. I don’t blame him for taking it. I don’t blame anyone for wanting in on that film.

And yet...the production company isn’t being blamed. The surviving Queen members, who held all the power in this film production, aren’t being blamed. The studio isn’t being blamed.

Why are people blaming an fairly unknown actor for taking a job, instead of the studio who hired and paid Singer? Let’s not pretend that Rami Malek had any industry power before this movie. His credits are a cult TV show that few people watch or have even heard of, and a small part in one of the Twilight movies. He’s

I’m here for all these 90s crime stories. Being a kid back then I wasn’t looking at these events deeply or critically, and despite having smart, involved parents, I know I just accepted the media narratives: Hillary should let her husband be president, haha a pube on a Coke can!, she cut off his thing???, Nancy is a

“If a male staff needs to enter a female room, they need to bring in a female employee with them.”

You’re not interesting because you jerked off in front of women for decades. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? Why does that make you interesting. You didn’t get your career ruined by a vindictive creep. You spent 20 years harassing your colleagues and threatening them with retaliation and now I gotta

in 30+ plus years i’ve never sung or even hummed one of her songs. she’s a hard worker and has lots of chutzpah, and for that i can respect her. however she has zero talent as a singer, and for that she can retire now, please.

Who would you rather see walk into a small room, sit down at an un-mic’d piano, and play and sing several of her own compositions? Who’s the musician, and who’s an act?

Madonna already ruined one musical. Let’s not let her do it again with an even better score.

The Madonna biography written by her brother (and erstwhile manager) Chris Ciccone is SO JUICY and makes it extremely clear that your take is 100% correct. If you haven’t read it, I recommend it - I picked it up half-price at an airport once and I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I wouldn’t pay full price for any book

*Shoveling popcorn into mouth*

I’m just here to watch the Madonna fans and the Gaga fans go at it like the two gangs in A Clockwork Orange.

I have always had a strong dislike for Madonna.  As an artist, a celebrity and a human being.  Very little will change my mind about that.

What I haven’t done is go on IG to take potshots at a younger and arguably more talented singer. If Madonna is so amazing, why isn’t she happy? She’s seems so bitter and miserable. Why is she worried about what another performer is doing and saying? You would think that someone so accomplished would be happy with her

Here is a thing I wrote yesterday about this very article:

Avenue Q is pretty great too -- like Book of Mormon, it’s sharp and darkly funny but ultimately has a heart.

I’m grumbling here because KK’s breakout role was the bestie in Bend It Like Beckham. I mean.
