My guess would be that they can’t get nominated for any Best Original Song awards if it came from the show.

Fucking THANK YOU. And why, WHY is she doing her own singing? Judy, even towards the end, had a voice like a cello: rich and full with an insane amount of depth. Renee is too soft and high to really capture that quality which, let’s not forget, was what made her a legend in the first place.
Feels a bit like “Harvest Home” which legit creeped me out when I read it as a teenager.
Her quiet speech at the party to Gordon about how he ruined her dreams for her daughter was MASTERFUL. It was powerful and heartbreaking and deeply human. I have always adored Laura Dern, but that speech just solidified for me how truly fantastic an actor she is.
I’ve personally always considered Bakersfield to be the Texas of California (not just because of the insane amounts of twangy accents you hear amongst natives.)
I’m so sorry about that, that you grew up so close to such a base of deep fear. It is a fascinating piece of history and American (especially SoCal) culture, particularly when framed as being tied directly into what was considered the end of the age of innocence the 60s tried to be. But I absolutely agree that the…
All of her seasons are really well researched and delivered, but “Charlie Manson’s Hollywood” is particularly good.
A gratuitous Multiplicity reference, ESPECIALLY the third clone, is always appreciated.
My cousin is a 4th grade teacher, and she said the two most common “what I want to be when I grow up” this year were: YouTube star, social media celebrity.
Totally. Just a super entertaining movie.
Yeah, it was less a con turning on them and more Ray Liotta figuring the con out and then wanting in. But then ending with him and Sigourney attempting to con Anne Bancroft (who teaches her the con previous to the film and then flips and cons her in the film.)
I’ve never been a fan of Anne Hathaway, going back to Princess Diaries. Heartbreakers is actually an excellent example of how to do a gender-swap version of a story; they managed to really elevate the material for the women, rather than doing basically the exact same story with “she” in place of “he.” And making them…
Absolutely. Is it one of my favorite movies? No. If I see it’s on TV will I immediately put it on? Oh yeah.
I’m so sorry that happened to you, and that the coat that was meant to be a comfort ended up disappointing as well.
I think it’s because every single person in the movie is having A BLAST. It’s infectious.
LOVE. IT.
UGH, thank you. I’ve never been prouder of a perfectly-timed bodily function in my LIFE.
Watch Heartbreakers with Sigourney Weaver. Much better female version of DRS.
They already made a female-version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Heartbreakers) which is far superior to this one.
When I was pregnant and INCREDIBLY sensitive to smells, a guy on my train sitting in the accessible seats no less, opened a garlic chicken pizza and just started chowing down. So, I did the only thing I could think to do. Looked him in the eye, and promptly threw up in the plastic bag I kept with me as a “just in…
