it’s astonishing because compared to 2008, 2016 might as well have been an episode of Teletubbies. as a reminder, in 2008 the Clinton party line was that all Obama Boys were a bunch of misogynist rapists-in-waiting following the orders of a secret muslim who ate dogs, and Clinton needed to stay in the race in case

I wish we would shut the fuck up about white working class voters. They’re a lost cause and hell bent on voting against their own self-interest. We’ve had two Democratic Presidents when two consecutive terms without them, yet we’re obsessed with courting those five living Reagan Democrats. Those people will never vote

Increasing by 42% is not doubling. Increasing by an even 50% is not doubling either. To double something, you increase it by 100%.

The reality is most voters are low information voters who at the very least don’t keep up with politics regularly. It is a valid thing to say it results in them making sub-optimal choices, even for their own interests. There are two ways to handle this among the folks who are in fact deeply engaged with the process.

In less than a decade on the national stage, Warren has made more allies and gotten more legislation passed than Bernie has in his entire career.  We’re electing a president, not a god-emperor - an ability to marshal support is *vital* in actually getting things done.

Again, the majority of Bernie supporters are just that, supporters. But you can’t deny there’s not a significant subset of his support that is simply toxic.

I like Bernie, I really do. And yes he has plenty of supporters both men and women who are just great, most of them even. That’s the tragedy really of Bernie Bros. They’ve too often hijacked Bernie’s candidacy for their own toxuc ends. For them it’s not just about being right, but making sure everyone else knows how

To be clear: if Bernie is the nominee, I will vote for him. I truly like some of his platforms.

I was a tepid supporter of Bernie in 2016, but not today. I’ll tell you the difference between Bernie and Warren: Warren has a well constructed platform of interwoven policies and plans for the future. The talking points they both spout are similar, but Warren has done the groundwork and the math.

The fact that Bernie brings the crowds to his appearances that dwarf nearly all other candidates and certainly Trump’s, proves the need to hear his message.

“Undergraduate student Wayne Ruan said he supported Sanders’ plans to eliminate college tuition and debt, but that if the election were held today, he’d vote for Andrew Yang.”

I think the best SVU episode is when the rapper gets eaten by his lion, Stabler goes undercover and gets injured, and Cragen opens up a basketball at an airport to reveal a baby gibbon that lives inside of it.

Crazy! Sanders supporters losing their shit over insufficient ideological purity, undermining minority concerns, and attacking a female candidate? I never would have seen this coming.

I’ve seen a lot of this on social media lately, attacking people who mostly like Sanders and think he’s an important policy voice. There’s a lot of conspiratorial thinking, a lot of bad-faith attacks on Warren (quite a few of which have been deeply sexist), and extreme vitriol from people who clearly have nothing to

“Cancel Culture” is just yet another buzzword created to start a pushback against something that has existed since the beginning of time. In this case, it’s “holding people responsible for their actions”. Turns out, the more we hold people responsible for their actions, the more that begins to make other certain people

When asked what about performing she loves, she replied, “I was born for this.” And then she sang Lady Gaga: “I was born this way.” And then, she mashed up her own words to the tune of “Born This Way”: “I was born for this.”

Conservatives aren’t funny. The comedians conservatives think are funny are...Larry the Cable Guy. Tim Allen. Sentient re-hashes of the same old unfunny shit from the last 50 years, sometimes packaged in a new way but always entirely predictable.

One other thing - that “liberal media” canard is a piece of propaganda one ROGER AILES pushed on the networks (as is Republicans’ wont) and they apparently swallowed whole.

yeet her into the sun” is what my teenage daughter would say, and i’m inclined to agree
