Yesterday, when attacks on the Boston Marathon injured scores of people, mostly spectators, every runner I know

Absolutely furious at the person or persons who killed this child. Absolutely. Furious.

I don't understand the world.

At first I agreed with you, because I had glazed over the "social impact" part of the sentence. But... worrying about the social impact of foreigners—sort of xenophobic. If he just spoke about the economic impact or even the "socioeconomic" impact I would agree with you. But, alas, that isn't how it went down.

Someone posted this on facebook today, and while I'm not really one for sappy inspirational quotes, it really was very fitting and inspirational. I appreciate Mr. Rogers so much more as an adult then I did when I was a kid because I never really realized what he was all about. He was a genuinely good person trying to

They are edible. I'm of West African origin and they are delicious! Delicious. They eat vegetables and fruits and are clean.

Those from Gawker mentioned Bartlet's "They ran into the Fire" speech from 20 Hours in America:

Mr. Rogers is my antidote to overwhelming sadness, too. Thank you.

Probably my favorite movie adaptation of Shakespeare. I'm still blown away by it all these years later.

Unless they're home schooling and never taking their kids to a birthday party, ChuckECheese, or public park, or letting them walk around without surgical gloves, they're not just making those decisions for their own children. They're potentially exposing other children to deadly disease.

We've come to this weird point in modern civilization where calling something a "different choice" implies that it is an equally valid decision, as though vaccinating and not vaccinating are simply two equivalent sides of the same coin. They're not.

Vaccines come with a very small risk. That is an indisputable fact.

When their decision directly effects the safety of my own child, yes, they should be shamed.

I think the state has a duty to protect children from abusive or negligent parents.

I think people with compromised immune systems shouldn't have to get sick, or go deaf, or die because other parents ignore the actual evidence.

Except that failing to get your child vaccinated affects the herd's ability to ward off diseases.

She's boldly gone where no female sci-fi character has gone before- we can't see her boobs or her butt at all.

Oh I'm so sorry, it's so sad to put a pet down. They are such great companions, and it's so hard to let them go. I'm sure she loved you just as much as you loved her.

Oh my god I am so sorry. My mother just lost her rescue terrier, and I literally cannot think about when my bait dog rescue might pass. Major internet hugs- I am so sorry for your loss.

If your teeth can't blind another person in the sunlight with their whiteness you will die an old, reclusive crone!

When I heard that Justin Bieber wrote that in the Anne Frank guest book, I was peeved. He comes off as self centered and I have much more respect for Anne Frank than I do for Bieber. I think Anne Frank was a bit more preoccupied with, I don't know, hiding from the most evil forces of her day rather than asking herself
