The problem with most people’s definitions is that they tend to put firm values on the criteria and with time they all get outdated. 500hp? In the 90s that would’ve cut it, but sadly that’s not that much ‘these days’.

Well, whether or not it was better or worse than the geo metro/swift - those cars are perfectly acceptable in the mid 90s as bottom rung stuff, but so many years later to have a car that is equal or worse than that is shameful. 

My main thought that angered me that kept coming up was “how is this so bad, “WE” have learned how to make better cars in every single way, this should not be a new vehicle this late in time”

Aztek wasn’t the worst by far. Maybe the ugliest? But ignoring styling (a challenge I know) it was a middle of the road CUV with class leading functionality and was kind of ahead of its time in a few ways. Just happened to be hideous.

I finally saw Bullitt back maybe 15y ago. I went in with low expectations for the film and high expectations for the car chase.

I loved the maverick. It’s rare that a base model with only a few options checked (mid-trim spec hybrid is easiyly a 25k or less affair) is the one I want.

In an era where the average new car is over 40k, the fact im excited about a base model car that is 25-ish out the door is crazy.
