That said, I’m acutely aware of the hate that is building more towards my people lately. I’m fortunate that where I live is a good, diverse neighborhood, but even knowing that, I’ve had repeated fears of coming home to a swastika and a slur being spray-painted on my house.

I would say that is a very ideal time to criticize a persons logic.

BEV’s are going to be what hybrids were ~15 years ago. The people that like them won’t shut up about them, the rest of us will just shrug.

Tesla has a proprietary connector and has said if any other company wants to work with them to use their chargers, they can. But no one had taken the bait yet. It would probably be embarrassing for Chevy or Nissan to encourage their customers to go to a unit with a bright glowing Tesla logo to charge.

Think of it more like a portajohn.

Think of it on demand infrastructure.
