Hauling has almost NEVER been about weight limits. Hell, it’s turned more to volume limitation with the rise of amazon and online retail...

I feel really dumb for never making the connection, until recently, that burning open gas flames in your home might be detrimental for your health. Would love to jettison our gas range.

I installed an induction range in my home some years back and now every time use someone’s gas range (even a luxury Wolf/Thermador), it feels primitive and crude. I’d imagine driving an EV truck and going back to a diesel feels the same way.

An IMC executive told the newspaper that electric trucks are limited to routes shorter than 25 miles from port to a warehouse because of reliability concerns.

do you think revenue is profit?

I’d like to see what the details of this actually are.

Maybe if grids fucking installed peak load batteries and also encouraged people to install batteries in their home, they wouldn’t have to... deal with peak loading and having so much excess power generation in the rest of the day.

I’m pretty sure you mean NOT to charge between 4 and 9 PM. That’s when our power is most expensive and dirtiest relative to demand. Waiting until after 9 means getting out of the peak.

I work for a major battery manufacturer and lithium does seem to be the future. Lead acid isn’t going away soon however, since it’s a lot less expensive and the most recyclable consumable on the market (99% of a lead acid battery can be recycled). But performance wise, lithium definitely does very well. We’re starting

That sounds like a awesome road trip. As a car enthusiast currently sitting in his commuter Prius, yeah, he should just get the Prius.

Hes actually not wrong in this current market though...

It doesn’t make any difference, it’s just a question on the survey. It’s like how survey data shows 8 out of 10 jalops would only buy a manual while sales data shows that they don’t buy cars at all.

We were looking to offload my car as I’m WFH for the foreseeable future, but were gonna replace it with a city car for my wife.

Things are getting pretty bad out there. One of my best mates has a 10 year old GTi that just crapped out on him and needs a new engine and is looking at either leasing a new S3 or buying one that is a year or two old. He asked for advice and mentioned that his parents are getting rid of their 10 year old Prius and

I’m definitely waiting. Fortunately, I have a car that is only 8 years old, is in good mechanical condition and still a blast to drive so I could legitimately wait years if I have to.

For those that don’t have that luxury, I feel bad for them. This is the worst time to need to buy a car. The sad irony is that the

Given that Volvo has idled and slowed multiple production lines and sent press releases when it did, the reputation for honesty in car salespeople remains unchanged.

Bad seat time is bad seat time. If you can’t bring yourself to flog a car in a parking lot with cones, do you really think you’re going to do it at a track with other cars, hard barriers and real consequences? You won’t. Not being harsh, just thinking you should focus on the nut behind the wheel more and not take the

This is a misunderstanding of what impacted the auto industry prior to and during the recession.

- Gas prices were increasing prior to the recession. When the recession hit prices cratered.

Those that scoffed at Sergio Marchionne, when he stated that FCA was no longer going to offer cheap and simple sedans like the Dodge Dart or Chrysler 200, are the same ones that panned those vehicles.

So as an engineer I think this highlights a problem with designing for consumers in general. Those internal specs/design targets often don’t (and really can’t) be published in a way that’s understandable or meaningful to the average consumer. You design something for x, customer immediately uses it for x^2 and claims
