I don't think he sees it as a failure, but more a success that didn't quite make use of the opportunity as intended. Third-party games failed to catch on sales wise for the third home console in a row, and I think a lot of that, more than ever, had to do with Nintendo's distance from the third parties themselves.…
Ooooh, Rhythm Heaven was/is great! Wish they'd put this series on Wii sooner. It'll sell boatloads (in Japan, at least, I'd think...)
This. It's a Nintendo video game system! When the games arrive, so will the buying public. You can throw in all kinds of fancy and unique extra experiences into a device that is primarily made for games, but it will most likely always be the games themselves that sell the game-centric devices.
I'll point to this situation from now on as an example of "How To Bungle Customer Service in a Crisis." Where is the FAQ like this on Sony's site? Wading through forums? You go to the main PSN web page:
He has many a Blu-Ray disc. See, Sony won that format war! Except the future looks to be streaming of media. Suppose that depends on opinion and perspective. Regardless, no one format or device will be the be-all, end-all, unless technology should stop advancing past a point, which doesn't seem to be in the interest…
I don't know... my friend was a biiiig Betamax fan. :o
For starters, how and why this happened. It doesn't have to name names or even point fingers, but to convey the exacts: what was attacked in an intrusion? Was any information of PSN subscribers compromised? And especially, how will they prevent something like this from happening again?
An offer would be good. Maybe open Playstation Plus up to the general public for the time that PSN was down, while offering current Plus members some extra benefit? But the important thing is a detailed explanation to the best of their knowledge about what happened and how they will prevent something like that from…
Psh, speak for yourself. :D
I was thinking that too. Then again, this is one of the rare songs where I actually enjoy the edits. The whole sample-rush effect is pretty intense. Great song in general, loved it the first time around.
Each hit of the parry requires a separate forward joystick input. The timing for parrying in SF3 was tricky to start with, but this required consistency on multiple hits that vary in speed. Then, the last hit had to be parried with a jumping parry, so jump up and parry by hitting down or down/forward. But the real,…
I know exactly what you mean about the "instant stop" gripes. For the life of me I've never understood the logic of throwing the barriers that you have to slide under into the mix. Some of the QTEs that let you take a better path I could live with, but those stupid slide parts are utter fun-killers. The Classic Sonic…
I agree. In fact, for my second play session, I got to my destination early in the car. It has an 1/8" headphone jack, so I plugged the iPod Touch and played the game through the car stereo. Imagine the game as a surround-sound-like stereo environment. It was amaaaaaazing.
NES days, when you had to read print magazines or hear from friends about cheat codes. Even then it was often more out of necessity because some of those games were ridiculously difficult. You'd use the codes like the 30 Lives in Contra and Gradius just to get further into the game and see what you would have to face…
I'm already curious if this thing could be a "Nintablet" Controller. 6-inch screen with camera? Maybe Nintendo wants to integrate a low-end iPad style of format into what they're making, with dual analog sticks and buttons on it. The big question is how low-spec would each have to be to be affordable? Plus, how stable…
Heh, that's weird, but if you look at it from acronym perspective, there are possibilities. Probably "Z" for Dragonball Z? The games are for the most part in that strata of the series. "S" for Saiyan. "A" as just a regular good grade. Best guess, of course.
As a counterpoint, I think Nintendo feels the need to establish this system. It can't be too worried about tepid launch sales, but down the line they have to look at Sony's new handheld. Maybe they're concerned about getting an attach rate early on with the system? Putting out a new Mario game is a system seller, only…
Never heard of any rating more ludicrous than a "Z". I thought "X" was deep down in the alphabet. I challenge a rating board to trump numerically or alphabetically the power of "Z"!
I don't think CoD will lose any sales steam for awhile, barring a complete breakdown of quality. It has become in institution, and in spite of the yearly releases and some rough edges from the task of pushing out a game every year, it has maintained a high level of quality throughout. I don't have any issue with…
