The force is strong with this one...

That logic makes absolutely no sense. If you feel Rian Johnson’s ideas were the best Star Wars has been since Empire, then you obviously know that the trilogy would’ve been better if Johnson had been guiding all three films. What we get is two films that make no sense paired together and a third film that will most

Yep.

Counterpoint to your counterpoint:

I definitely think they’re gonna give Feige significant input as to what to do with the Cinematic Universe. Then WB will try to poach him for DC

If Disney and Kennedy learned anything from these last three mainline movies, it’s hire one person with talent that can bring a unified vision to a narrative (Feige is that you?). It’s not to say you can’t surround that person with other talented people who can polish and help bring the best out of it. That’s how

You are correct in that multiple angles usually exist in our complicated culture and reality.

Somewhere there’s a Philosophy grad student toiling away at a thesis that tries to establish a causal relationship between the rise of Marvel movies and the rise of populist white supremacy in American politics.

Okay, I am repeatedly on record as defending Alan Moore as not the curmudgeon people think he is.

“This seems like a good time to revisit Watchmen co-creator Alan Moore’s thoughts on modern superhero movies”

Testify Alan Moore! TESTIFY!

Unless there’s a lot left unexplained, I think the episodes we’ve seen tell us that Veidt is obviously on Europa, and that Dr. Manhattan is responsible. Whether Lady Trieu is in on it in some capacity as well or what her role is, where it involves Veidt and Manhattan, is what’s left to be seen. Their stories will

I enjoyed seeing the Jawas again and their ginormous Sandcrawler never gets old, but this was the definition of a setup episode. The two set pieces were well done, and Nick Nolte’s Kuill continues to be a nice compliment to the stoic Dyn.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting mostly great reviews and will hopefully send a message to EA executives. Single player games without loot boxes can be good, popular, and sell well. So happy for Respawn, one of the best studios in the business right now. Perhaps Disney will give them a mandate if this sells as

November the 15th of the 19th year highlighting Our Almighty Mikkelsen

I’ve not really figured out what to play since I beat Disco Elysium. This has happened before, and it will happen again - a transcendent experience makes it hard for anything to compare for quite a while. Still, it’s kind of annoying. I started to get back into Slay the Spire, but that’s more of a “game to play at

cap_n_jack and LaurenceQ are certainly entitled to their opinions, but 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 66 out of 100 on Metacritic with only 18 reviews.

What mediocre reviews?

Not sure what you have read but I watched it and was impressed. It looks amazing and it’s shot well. It fairly minimalist in dialog and it is really a lot of showing and not telling,  especially with the world building.   I was happy with what I saw and look forward to more

This was a perfect intro for the series and felt much more like the Star Wars universe in the original trilogy, than anything else Disney has done other than Rogue One. The new Skywalker Saga movies just don’t imbue the same tone, feel, and atmosphere in my opinion.
