But in the end, it’s a throwaway character, built up as a major villain in the second film, and then turned into a hapless buffoon in the third. There’s simply not much interesting there for me.

It really is a terrible angle. The stereotypes of Westworld are okay but those of Shogun World are bad because...reasons? Because they’re Japanese and not western? imo that’s an even more offensive take.
