Max Dood talked about how a project on the scope of Smash Ultimate will NEVER happen again. It’s the Avengers Endgame of video games, only a third of all the heroes and villains are from different franchises/companies. I would love to see a stack of all the legal paperwork that when into the iconic “EVERYONE IS HERE”

Some may prefer more traditional fighters, but to call Smash Ultimate shallow seems to be not giving it nearly enough credit. For example, chess probably feels shallow to people who aren’t obsessed with it...

While you’re at it, could I get the PS3 version on Switch? That freakin’ console’s ONLY 3D fighter is Pokken... and even that’s debatable.

Can someone explain why EVERY fighting game doesn’t just use rollback netcode? It seems like a no-brainer. Is it more expensive or difficult to program or something?

That is a REALLY complicated game board. I mean, look at how tiny the text is on those cards! I could see a paired down version of this game being a lot more appealing; like Mafia meets Among Us...

This game is the biggest surprise of 2021. One part Splatoon, one part Rocket League, with a dash of Jet Set Radio. Inject it directly into my veins. Please and thank you.

The plumber’s-crack is part of the scalper’s starter kit.

Call me crazy, but if the players were good enough, wouldn’t they just be scouted by a different team? Or is the “second tank” actually a unique role with responsibilities that differ from the “first tank?” (genuinely asking)

Didn’t I read an article on this site about Rambo actually being a movie about the horrors and psychological damage of warfare? Or maybe it was somebody’s comment...

But is this one of those situations where the amiibo makes the game so much less challenging that it compromises the original game design? A couple of the Mario Odyssey figures fell into this category and lost my purchase as a result.

I guess the attrition part comes into play because you’re basically waiting to see which opponent will get impatient and go in for the kill first (which almost always results in a suicide)

My buddies and I used to do “Dan Fights” in SF4. You set both player’s life total down to 1% so that a single hit kills, and then both players select Dan. His lack of speed and range make for really hilarious wars of attrition.

That would make me sad, as I think Sega games often have a certain edge that Nintendo would shy away from. For example, I can’t imagine Nintendo making a Streets of Rage game in which you body slam a dirty cop into his desk and bags of money fly out.

Why is Streets of Rage and House of the Dead in the right hand column? SoR4 has some really cool DLC coming out soon and the House of the Dead remake is supposed to land later this year...

A Jet Set Radio game on the Switch would be ideal for the following reasons.
-cell-shaded graphics look impressive, even on the underpowered handheld

It’s a fact presented in a very positive way, and footnoting the article with it was a very conscious decision and reveals the author’s bias. It’s fine if you agree with said bias, but I just thought it wasn’t the best from a journalism standpoint. Granted, this site has never really reported on things neutrally, and

Sorry, I was getting attacked on all sides, but your response was actually one of the kinder ones and I overreacted to it. You make an interesting point about “piracy,” but I think it’s a gray area and this site often paints companies protecting their rights as the bad guys.

I appreciate that. Your comment stung particularly because I thought, for the briefest of moments, that you were coming to my defense. lol. Even though I don’t even think I’m right anymore, it still felt good to have an ally. And then you edited your response to make sure everyone knew you were being insulting, not

When you’ve got dozens of people throwing jabs, it still doesn’t feel great.

Same things also happened with Silent Hill. Part of me wonders if its canon...
