I would say he actually does care. He's clearly putting on the charm for them, but also he fundamentally likes to be charming. It's just that Jimmy slightly prefers getting ahead to actually being liked.

But we get to see him work his old people charm, which is quite lovely to watch when he is using it for good.

Personally I'd recommend you not engage with somebody who is either trolling or being silly, and I'd also strongly recommend you don't use the word "mansplain". It needlessly antagonizes people.

That is a good point. I obviously knew it was about her looking out for Jimmy but you make a good point about how it was specifically in response to her seeing him turn back to destructive old ways to pay the bills.

    As Mike later eloquently says:
    He's a time-bomb
    Tick… Tick… Tick…

Honestly here's a much more real rule: If you can clearly see them wearing a seatbelt, there is a crash coming soon.

Dang, I did not catch that. When that shot happened I got hung up thinking about the similar shot that happens in "Home Alone"

Imagine Mike as a world-weary baby.
    "That's not how you hold a rattle…"

"I refuse to play drug dealers"
    "he's also a chicken brother"
    "I'M IN!"

Breaking Bad was all about "Breaking Bad", which is making choices over and over where you do something bad for pride or money. Better Call Saul is more like "Slipping Bad", he slowly turns evil but it's much more about scenarios happening to him then him doing something as a choice. His seemingly minor choice to make

It's weird, as I see things like Jimmy play the old women to his advantage (events like these drive the conflict at the heart of the show) I kinda hate it, I kinda want all these people to just be happy forever and for Jimmy to never become more morally bankrupt, even if him doing so is the premise of the entire show.

It was a blackout from falling asleep, it was established in the exact same cut being played when she napped in the car a few episodes back.

Shout outs to the reviewer here. They get the show and they get why it's awesome. Keep it up!

I love reasonable criminals being reasonable. That's why I love the Mike/Nacho dynamic.

Here’s a fun fact: As of this episode, Jimmy/Saul has appeared on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul combined more than Walter White or Jesse Pinkman.

This show continues to amaze me. I almost want to list everything the show did great but it would take too long. This is the first time for me a prequel has been used to it's unique dramatic effect: I know things can't end great for Chuck but what that does for me is when he seems crazy here it gets me wondering if he

Shout outs to the scene of them just saying each other's names to each other. This is literally the dialogue for an entire minute of television:
    Howard: Jimmy
    Jimmy: Howard
    Chuck: Jimmy
    Jimmy: …
    Kim: Howard
    Howard: Kim
    Kim: Chuck
    Chuck: Kim

It's worth noting how Chuck basically ignores his electro-phobia when he lectures Jimmy on the curb. In that moment it's all about feeling superior so subconsciously he ignores this "condition" so to not be weak and to further that position.

I had one complaint with this episode: It is clearly established that Jimmy got 1.81 in change for his breakfast, I think it would've fit more (and not been such an on the nose callback to BB) had he given Kim the 1 dollar.

Doesn't it bill itself as prestige television? If it's trying to be un-serious pulpy fun it might want to try moving faster than molasses.
