Mostly I might agree with you, but the team portion of the championship has long been settled, so there’s nothing at stake there. Early on in the season? Absolutely follow team orders.

My dad drove in HS, got his regular license one day, and was driving a school bus route the next day. And in rural areas, it’s not exactly common case that these kids hasn’t been driving in some form or fashion for years.
