Nah, I’m sure they happen in other places too. The difference with LA is there’s always a squad of tv helicopters hovering around to report traffic, so the local stations can and do cut to a live feed at a moment’s notice when one of these things starts. Same reason we get all those crazy drivers caught on dash cams…
