I’ve always loved the M-bodies - there’s something admirable about their stark lines, mustache-esque grilles, and smaller amount of sales as compared to the LTD Crown Vic and Caprice. That would be quite interesting, actually - I didn’t know they still made the sport variant, and it would seem to fit the Impala nameplate and role well.

I can only wonder what their plan is when its replacement comes due. The Impala limited only hung on for so long, and I would not be averse to seeing a police package for the current Impala.

It’s crazy that the Caprice didn’t have a column shifter to begin with. You’d think that GM would have figured that would have been mandatory.

I currently drive a Crown Vic, so I am certainly aware of the gas struggle, haha. Thanks for the info - I’m glad to see they’re relatively reliable beasts.
