I feel sad for you that this is the best way for you to be noticed in your life.

over the cisphobic racist crap constantly spewing from the left.

Yeah this one was straight up hate trying to be comedy.

This is an interesting take, and it’s true that comics often have on-stage personas, sure, but ‘real-life’ opinions can easily bleed through into those personas. Considering how tone-deaf and hurtful those trans jokes are, why did he think it was a good idea to put those in, to have his crass persona tell them? Why

Okay famously “hydrophobe” is used for substances that are not afraid of water (or anything, being inanimate and nonsentient) but *repel* water. (And hydrophobia in living things refers specifically to rabies, which has aversion to water as a symptom but that’s not the entire thing obviously.)

If you don't like people's criticisms of Ricky Gervais, maybe don't read the article, snowflake

Have you considered crying some more about it?

Awwwwww the white cis hetero man is sad about being picked on much

Ah, is it time for the bad faith “akShUallY phobic means afraid of!” canard already?

Language and word meanings shift over time. I’m sorry if you’re just now learning this.

It’s all the more frustrating that this bullshit, both the legislation and the absolutely brain-dead single joke they always focus on, is the only gear that they engage their bigotry in. The rhetoric is exclusively focused on MtF people existing to take the identity and safety away from women and underage girls- that

These guys never seem to acknowledge the existence of trans men.

Sorry, I'll just let you go back to the greys.

When bigots are trying to outlaw life-saving medical treatment fortrans people, their existence is under attack. When we just experienced the deadliest year on record for trans people as far as hate crimes in the US, their existence is under attack. Objectively.

I really think Gervais is the kind of guy who does this material just because he knows it pisses people off. I think he sees it as no different than his jokes about religion or his jokes about celebrities. I truly believe that he doesn’t understand how, in this instance, he’s punching down against a group of people

It would be nice to not be the butt end of a joke for at least one Netflix comedy special while my state desperately tries to make me not real.  It gets a little tiring.

That's what you're doing now tho

You’re complaining about an article “regurgitating up a bunch of dumb talking points” which is reporting on a “comedian” who is ::checks notes:: regurgitating up a bunch of dumb talking points.

I’m getting tired of these articles being necessary. The fact that you’re complaining about articles calling out bigotry being

The world is waking up to the fact that “David Brent” wasn’t just a character that he played.

I look forward to how the chuds spin a straightforward rant that trans women are bathroom rapists is a standard asshole comedian joke that hits everyone.
