To me the character development in this film - especially going more into Gamora’s (she the most underserved in in the first movie) relationship with Nebula, Rocket’s tendency to sabotage his relationships with people and Yondu’s redemption and the whole theme of family and choice - were all more emotionally impactful…

I loved how he was totally channelling Crichton’s Peacekeeper impersonation for the role.
