Except that wasn’t really true at the time. When the fortwo launched in 2008, it was the most fuel efficient gasoline-powered vehicle on the new car market at 33/41 MPG. To get better fuel economy, you either had to buy a diesel or a hybrid. It retained that title until 2011, when it was dethroned by the Scion iQ. It

I have a ThermoPop and a Thermapen Mk4. For the cost, the Pop is the perfect balance of price and performance. It gets you ThermoWorks quality and accuracy, but it’s a tiny bit slower and you have to deal with buttons.

Jalops: Simplify and add lightness!

Dude runs a store called Extreme Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram and FCA is getting all bent out of shape about their Monster Energy green and black motif.

As someone who has swapped a few V8s into S10s and corrected many more janky swaps, I gotta say... this one’s not bad.

In the Amazon show, the crew mentioned their next project will be a new Climbkhana.

David Tracy: Driving around in a Michigan winter with no heat because he doesn’t want to wire a simple switch for the blower motor.

Back the truck up. In the photo, I can clearly see the shock mounts extending below the rear axle. Going back to David Tracy’s review of the Colorado Bison and the comments that followed, these will certainly get hung up on something driving off-road. Hell, they’re even likely to get hung up on something just driving

This I hate. From the first pictures released, I still can’t unsee it. Taking the doors off makes it worse.

Oh man, shit on Ford for making the shock mounts hang down too low!

If you have a ‘15 Colorado, there is a new engine and transmission calibration for the 6 speed. I have a ‘16 and my #1 complaint was the eager-to-upshift/hesitant-to-downshift transmission calibration.

Normal. 4th gen Camaro doors (and fenders) are composite.

David Tracy:

I’ll take the easily-serviceable, unkillable AMC inline-six.

The 2005 Mustang (S197) redesign was supposed to have an independent rear suspension. With the Camaro gone and no natural competition in the marketplace, Ford bean-counters squashed the idea and forced the program team to continue with a live axle to save cost.

This is literally the exact same mild hybrid system GM has been using since 2016 on the Silverado:

Not a ZF, an 8L90 of GM’s own design. GM has never used a ZF 8-speed.

Computer Aided Gear Selection, a.k.a CAGS, a.k.a. skip shift, has been around in the Corvette since 1989 and Camaro (and Firebird) since 1993. Pretty much any GM with a manual 6-speed trans (or 7-speed, in the case of the C7), has gotten CAGS.

Like others have said, Ford and Holden aren’t going anywhere in Australia. Manufacturing has ceased in Australia by all the major automakers (Ford, Toyota, and GM), but they will still continue to sell vehicles in Australia that have been built in other locations.
