“Maybe make a Tesla without that shit for cheaper?”
“Maybe make a Tesla without that shit for cheaper?”
Plug in and swipe/scan credit card is a lot less clunky than messing around in the app. Also not internet dependent...
1st Gear: Anyone who does or wants to do business with the federal government should be well versed in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The FAR requires domestic content, of a percentage of domestic content. It absolutely puzzles me that these people weren’t aware of this fun fact and was wishing for a…
Dodge says it will give first priority to dealers who commit to selling the Demon 170 at MSRP.
It’s not a race car and is licensed to drive on public roads. It’s not a prototype, kit car, or modification of another model. It’s just a very limited production cars Both it and the Daemon will be very exclusive and difficult to actually purchase. Nobody is actually buying a Daemon for MSRP.
Elon doesn’t care. It actually can help them sell more Tesla’s while crowd sourcing the more expensive insurance premiums.
These are not body of frame vehicles so the term “frame damage” doesn’t really apply. You can have small damages in the unibody that can be easily fixed on most vehicles that might be an issue on the EV. I think the biggest issue is people are afraid to work on them. If there was more education on how to work on…
Don’t forget that higher insurance premiums aren’t contained to only the insured party, but to everyone with that insurer to some degree. So it is essentially crowd sourcing the problem. Tesla doesn’t really care if their cars get totaled out, it is actually beneficial to them to some extent.
Tesla took Sandy Munro’s advice and ran maybe a little too far with it. It’s true that the reduction in parts provided by large die castings is saving hundreds of millions of dollars over a years production. That comes at the cost of some big-ass Gigapress installations, but like Sandy said, the “cost of quality/CoQ”…
The Integra had a bunch more power than the civic, and way more aggressive suspension. In 1993 the slowest Integra you could get had 140 hp, the slowest Civic had 71 hp (!). The absolute fastest Civic you could get in ‘93 had 125 hp.
Tesla: I don’t know why our sales are slumping
It’s so refreshing in this day of hilariously boring electric cars that there’s some mad geniuses in a factory building a $3M hypercar with a 12k redline v12 and a 6 speed manual. Embrace these days, my friends... as they aren’t going to last much longer.
I have zero interest in buying anything new, as most of it is simply unaffordable for me now. I guess I’ll be driving my dinosaur 4Runner for a long time.
Hopefully Ford reads the writing on the walls and pumps out Ford Mavericks buy the shit ton. That way people can still get the truck they don't need but don't get completely destroyed by a $1000 car payment.
In the continuing move away from ICE. it’s important to be reminded what passion sounds like:
There’s a good portion of the country that isn’t energy poor and there are no peak/off peak hours for electricity. It’s just a flat rate based on total usage tiers.
Dealerships (especially non-luxury brands) don’t know jack shit about EVs.
There’s a theoretical stable world of slowly evolving economic policy where finding the best price on the supply vs. demand curve works, and then there’s the world we live in. We have to deal with the sudden realities of pandemics and war, sudden unemployment and sudden trillion-$ stimulus packages.
Ford’s ambitious initiative is one leg of “the Powell Plan”. Raise prices at measured pace until demand and supply are equal.
So sorry to hear this Lawrence. This is why I am trying to get my time in now and enjoy tracking my car. I put OMP race seats in it that won’t allow me to gain any weight so it’s good encouragement to stay fit. Bit I see a lot of older guys at events who despite having all the time in the world being retired, they say…
